Formed in 2005, Monarch is comprised of Michael J. Kearney, Thomas J. Lonergan, and Brandon R. Johnson, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to each real estate development opportunity. The individuals that form Monarch have collectively been involved in the development of over 4,000 affordable housing units.

Meet The Team

Michael J. Kearney

Michael J. Kearney is President and CEO of Monarch Development Group, LLC, and its affiliates. He is an expert in affordable housing and has spent more than thirty years in housing development, including multifamily and single-family housing. Mike is responsible for overall day-to-day operations and guiding our corporate vision. Furthermore, Mike provides oversight of Monarch Management Group, Inc. (MMG), which manages more than 1,400 units across Pennsylvania. Mike has extensive experience in deal structuring, including use of Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Federal HOME program funds, Federal Home Loan Bank programs, and a variety of other federal and state programs.

Thomas J. Lonergan

Thomas J. Lonergan is the Chief Financial Officer of Monarch Development Group, LLC and its affiliates. He has more than thirty years of experience in the housing and financial analysis field. Mr. Lonergan is a registered securities broker and has assisted in the financing of more than 2,000 units utilizing the Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.

Mr. Lonergan’s financial background is instrumental in managing partnership accounts and cash flow analysis during the construction process, as well as post-construction.

Brandon R. Johnson

Brandon R. Johnson is the VP of Development for Monarch. Brandon’s roles include site identification, feasibility analysis, deal structuring, development team networking, securing financing, and monitoring through and after construction. His expertise in the LIHTC program is one of many tools used toward his goal of increasing housing supply.

Brandon has helped to create over a thousand homes during his career.
